Rob graduated with an honours degree in Pharmacology in 1972 and developed a career in the veterinary and animal health industry becoming responsible for sales, marketing and communications.
Rob has been passionate about photography from an early age and recognising its importance, has used it extensively during his career to help develop the key brands within his companies’ portfolio of products. Passion and enthusiasm during those years ensured that many Industry awards were achieved.
Strong, positive visual communication, relying heavily on photography and associated literature was always a key area of activity as those brands established premium market positions.
Into the new millennium, the passion and enthusiasm for photographic projects gained momentum and the opportunity arose to complete the transition to photography and photographic assignments in the UK and overseas which would also dovetail into his communication skills.
During the last 15 years a significant amount of overseas travel has been undertaken to strengthen an already extensive portfolio of images for both stock, gallery and exhibition use. Recent destinations vary from Chile, Patagonia, The Easter Islands, to Antarctica, New Zealand, North America, South Africa, India and beyond. Rob has also worked as a freelance tutor for overseas photographic holiday workshops.
Whilst travel and landscape photography are the principle areas of Rob’s business he also undertakes commercial work and weddings. Most recently Rob has relocated to North Norfolk from where Rob Welch Photography operates.
In 2009 Rob’s Travel and Landscape work earned him a Fellowship of The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) and the Master Photographers Association (MPA).
